Many of you may have several different types of go-to snacks. You assume, they’re healthy, and they taste great. But, there’s a deep dark secret that’s hiding in most of those “yummy” delights. What is it, you may ask? The culprit is non-other than your dear, sweet, glucose-sucrose-fructose ridden friend.
Also, commonly known as sugar! In small quantities, it’s fine to indulge, but a majority of snack bars, and snacks that you assume are healthy, are actually not. Plus, they are filled with large amounts of sugar. So before you reach for your favorite “healthy” snack, next time, read the label. You may be surprised. Popular brands like Cliff, Kind, Quest, and Green Superfoods can have anywhere from 17grams of sugar up to 23grams per serving! That’s a lot of sugar. Which is why, when we were asked to collaborate with one of our favorite brands, Nature’s Bakery to review their FIG Bars…we jumped at the opportunity. Here’s why:1.) Nature’s Bakery Bars Have Only 10 grams of sugar per serving.

That’s a lot less than most other alternatives. Plus their line of delicious and healthy fig bars come packed with a whole lot of other great ingredients, like stone ground wheat, brown rice syrup, organic cane sugar, raspberries, apple puree, red cabbage extract, and they are cholesterol free, dairy free, and have 0 trans fats! What?! I know, I couldn’t believe it myself, either. And, as an added bonus they’re kosher and non-GMO.
2) They Are Packed With Healthy Ingredients

Not to mention that they taste figmazing! These aren’t your everyday fig bars. They certainly aren’t your store bought Fignewtons either. They are in a snack class all their own. And while, we could eat these all day, fair warning they are addicting, we suggest limiting your intake to one package per day.

3) Easy To Carry And Travels Well
When Nature’s Bakery asked if we’d like to review their product line, it was a no- brainer. With that said, we’ll be reviewing their line right here every couple of weeks. So stick with us! Since we aren’t ones to procrastinate (sometimes we do…) we dove bite-first into their original.

The Fig Bar: Light, not too sweet, chewy and smooth. The Fig Bar by Nature’s Bakery is flavorful without overpowering your taste buds. It’s very light on flavor but still manages to pack a great punch. A subtle nutty mix of oats and wheat are blended with a hint of fig. This snack will satisfy anyone looking for a healthy, filling alternative to other snack bars.

But, Fig aside their complete line is super tasty and good for you. So why stop there? The Apple Cinnamon flavor is a bit sweeter but just as satisfying.

Apple Cinnamon: This flavor is great with a cup of tea. The apple blends with a touch of cinnamon and hint of honey. Fig is then paired with the light smooth and velvety flavor of apple. It’s like eating a freshly baked apple pie out of the oven, but a bit lighter and better for you!

4) Delicious and Good For You (Even The Kid’s Will Enjoy).
The Apple Cinnamon is just as chewy as The Fig flavor, but again, comes a bit sweeter than the original. Just a touch, I wouldn’t want you to be wary of biting into these, they are the perfect blend of healthy meets sweet. So everyone from athletes, to moms, and those looking to watch their cholesterol will be happy.
